$ 699.99          BACK

Definitely a one of a kind hand carved hall tree deacon's bench clock, guarantee there's not another one just like it anywhere.
I purchased all the wood from the little local lumberyard, and it is all kiln dried.
This would make a really unique piece of furniture for your entranceway, den, game room, your lodge or cabin, the possibilities are endless. Some dimensions on this one of a kind piece are: the back piece of cherry is 83 " tall and roughly 16" wide and approximately 2" thick. The arms of the bench measure from floor up 23 " the bench is 25" side to side, and 16" front to back with an outside depth of the box of 11". The outside measurement of the arms in the front is 29-1/4" and inside the arms 18-1/2". The deacon's bench part box is made of hickory, with the 2" thick legs black walnut yes there are knots in the pieces. The arms are 24" long front to back and 5-1/2" wide. When I weighed just the 2 arms and lid they weighed a little over 16 lbs. The bench part weighs 61 lbs before any packaging, and the cherry back weighs 47 before packaging. I started with the slab of cherry I carved a raccoon at the entrance in the hole of the tree. I then used some stain and dry brushed some paint to add color to the raccoon, everything else is its natural color. I then scroll sawed first, then hand carved 15 maple leaves, out of cherry, black walnut and hickory. Each leaf is glued, and then I tiny finishing nail has been put in to hold them in place. The deacon's bench seat was built out of hickory for the box part, 2 x 3-1/2" black walnut for the legs, and thick cherry burls for the arms. There are two pieces of cedar inside that the sides of the seat rest on, I did not varnish them so that the cedar smell would be there. The rest of this bench has had a minimum of 3 coats of a satin varnish, including the inside of the bench. The entire bench is then screwed together, the only screw heads that show are a couple on the back which then are covered by the cherry carving. As one of the photos shows, there is a knot whole split in the bottom of the cherry which doesn't show, but I wanted to point it out. I routed out a circle area for the clock, and hand carved leaves show 12, 3, 6 and 9.
This will ship in two packages that is why the shipping calculator will not correctly calculate it. Shipping will be the exact charge, plus $5.00 for handling and purchasing the shipping boxes. The back piece will ship in one box, and the bench in a second box. This makes the shipping less than half what it would be put together. You will need to put in 6 screws to put your unique piece together. It would be much easier with a couple of people, but I did put it together myself. Since I don't just have shipping boxes lying around this size, please allow 2 business days for me to order them from a local corrugated plant. If there is a winning bid prior to the end of auction, I will order them at that time and have them waiting. The clock runs on a single AA battery, which I will try not to forget to put in the box. The screws to put it together will also be in the box with a couple to spare. The holes are drilled and you will just need to screw in the screws from the inside of the hinged lid on the chair.
If you would like a quote to your area just email me your zip code and I will get you the correct shipping cost. The three locations that I looked up were New York 159.00, Florida 169.51. and Oregon 217.65.
